    2. Review At: Moments to ShareReview Date: 9 Aug 2011Review URL: littlemermy/2011/08/my-big-book-of-bible-stories-by-philmlSummary:This is a paperback book with 256 pages. I would say each story is given sufficient attention and details that it is not too brief and yet not too much for the little one to understand the full story. Each story rhymes. So it is easy to read. I like the illustration in this book, big and clear picture with vibrant color. Usually half or 2/3 of the page is filled with pi [...]

    3. I received a copy of this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. From : "If your kids love Dr. Seuss, they’re sure to enjoy My BIG Book of Bible Stories—17 favorite stories, featuring hilarious rhymes and bright, fun illustrations, for preschoolers through early readers."I LOVED this book!! I cannot recommend it enough for parents looking for a fun way to read the Bible to their kids. It starts with Genesis and tells each book of the Bible in fun verse. My son h [...]

    4. Around here we love our Bible story books. My Big Book of Bible Stories is another good one. It is not big as in thick, like the Rhyme Bible Storybook or My Read and Rhyme Storybook Bible, but is big as in tall and wide (like the Rhyme Bible Storybook or a textbook). I would also use the term for those growing "big" kids as my two year often says "like a big girl!" (My big itty bitty). This is a funny and quite silly book with amusing illustrations that will help entertain and teach the stories [...]

    5. My 7 year old loves "reading" these bible stories together at night. He enjoys the pictures and the rhyming which is similar to a Dr. Seuss story. A very creative way to rewrite the bible stories. Here is an excerpt from David and Goliath: "Well then fight like a man!" rumbled dinky, small Dave."What's the matter, you sissy? Come on-make my day!" This battle is GOD's and in GOD"S mighty name,on this day I'm the hunter and YOU are the GAME!And so out came his sling, and then in went a stone, and w [...]

    6. These are Bible stories told in verse, Dr. Seuss–style (well, in his notable anapestic tetrameter, anyway). If you're looking for something reverent, look somewhere else. These are on about the same par as Veggie Tales. The verse scans well in most places. I actually think humorous verse is not the clearest way to communicate Bible stories, but I'm not averse to them being in this format if it gets kids interested (which it does!). I'm not a huge fan of the illustrations; they're just not my st [...]

    7. I just recieved this book as a ARC giveaway. I read Jonah and Job to my girls this evening. They loved it! My girls are 3 & 5. I believe the illustrations and rhymes are age appropriate for them. I enjoyed how each story is brought to life with easy to understand (and annunciate) rhyming version of the major stories of the Bible. The illustrator did a wonderful job depicting these stories as well as the rest of the book that I thumbed through. The author, Smouse, is a talented story teller! [...]

    8. I received this book as a giveaway.A truly charming book of Bible stories that are fun and easy to share. There is just enough detail to keep a child's attention without making it boring. The rhymes are super cute and never seem to take away from the message, if anything they add to the wonder of the stories! The sing-songy quality helps with reading out loud, you don't get bogged down and monotone and kids loved reading along.

    9. Really cute pictures and rhymes. My 4 year old and two year old nephews love this book and after I finished reading it, I donated it to the church they go to. My sister teaches sunday school there and she told me all the other kids love it too. They read them a new rhyme every week. The most surprising thing I found was the amount of rhyming stores in the book. A lot of time and thought must have been put into it.

    10. We read this as a family at the dinner table. It was a blessing to us and our two little boys. My wife and I would switch off reading a different story. We would even laugh at some of the clever writing. Be sure to check out Alistair Begg's reading of the Ruth story at vimeo/channels/truthforlif It's called, "I Love Ruthie."

    11. For those that wish to reinvent (just a little bit) some bible stories - for kids - then this may be the book for you and your child. The stories are cleverly put together so that young kids can ENJOY them especially when someone reads it to them. Good bedtime stories ----- for the young and old, that's me.

    12. A good book to read a chapter of each Sunday morning. I sometimes had to explain what they were talking about to my six year old, but overall the rhymes were very fun and the message was wonderful.

    13. Won in a Giveaway raffle & book received on 8/22/13. This will be a great story book for the family little ones as they learn about the Christian faith.
