    About "Jane Porter"

    1. Jane Porter

Born in Visalia, California, I m a small town girl at heart I love central California s golden foothills, oak trees, and the miles of farmland In my mind, there s nothing sweeter in the world than the heady fragrance of orange blossoms on a sultry summer night. As a little girl I spent hours on my bed, staring out the window, dreaming of far off places, fearless knights, and happy ever after endings In my imagination I was never the geeky bookworm with the thick coke bottle glasses, but a princess, a magical fairy, a Joan of Arc crusader. My parents fed my imagination by taking our family to Europe for a year when I was thirteen The year away changed me I wasn t a geek for once and overseas I discovered a huge and wonderful world with different cultures and customs I loved everything about Europe, but felt especially passionate about Italy and those gorgeous Italian men no wonder my first very Presents hero was Italian.I confess, after that incredible year in Europe, the travel bug bit, and bit hard I spent much of my high school and college years abroad, studying in South Africa, Japan and Ireland South Africa remains a country of my heart, the people, the land and politics complex and heart wrenching. After my years of traveling and studying I had to settle down and earn a living With my Bachelors degree from UCLA in American Studies, a program that combines American literature and American history, I ve worked in sales and marketing, as well as a director of a non profit foundation Later I earned my Masters in Writing from the University of San Francisco and taught jr high and high school English.I now live in Seattle and Hawaii with my three sons I never mind a rainy day, either, because that s when I sit at my desk and write stories about far away places, fascinating people, and most importantly of all, love I like a story with a happy ending We all do.

    1. Okay, so I love anything written by Jane Porterd perhaps that's the reason I enjoyed this book.e right nowI am just off desert sheiks!!!!!However, this was such a lovely story, filled with sadness and hope that I just could not stop reading. The two main characters have been through so much pain and loss and seeing them being able to find love and happiness with each other was such a lovely thing. The story line was actually very good and moved at a good pace with some interesting secondary charac [...]

    2. In the Sheikh's chosen queen we meet schoolteacher Jesslyn. After nine years of absence, a man who haunts her heart still comes to her for help. The man is none other than King Sharif, once a prince playboy and Jesslyn's love, now the king of Sarq, widower and father of three young girls. But just like her, he is changed as well!Instead of the carefree man he used to be, he is now harsh and dominand.Jesslyn left Sharif all those years ago and still hurts from that decision.Sharif wants her to teach [...]

    3. Wonderful Intense Emotional Second chance at love story,Sharif-Jesslyn both loved each other very much but Sharif's mother created a misunderstanding and seperated them,Sharif married Zulima and now he is a father of 3 daughters and a widower, needs Jesslyn cause his daughters are distant their marks are down so he comes to her and asks for help.Jesslyn is shocked to see him and refuses the deal but two of her students are in trouble and only Sharif can save them so the deal is on,from here these [...]

    4. Yet again, Jane Porter mesmerizes her readers with a magnificent and magical “sheikh” story, part of The Desert King series. It’s a bit of a reunion love story as nine years ago, Jesslyn and Prince Fehr were lovers in every sense of the word. They were brought together by a tragedy when Fehr’s two sisters and Jesslyn were in a horrible accident and the sisters were killed. The other tragedy was that Jesslyn was not only left with their loss but injuries which would affect the rest of her [...]

    5. Definitely a bit above the ordinary HP. This is my second Jane Porter book. Don't remember much about the first one, but this one makes me want to read another by her.

    6. I enjoyed this book by Jane Porter. I felt very much for the Hero and heroine. Their lives were destroyed by fate being placed in the hands of his despicable mother. I felt their pain, felt the pain of the children and respected how they came together again for their happy ending. I would have liked to see Jane Porter develop the characters a little more and put more scenes around the effort of rebuilding their relationship. I felt like she relied too heavily on their past love as a vehicle to g [...]

    7. Jesslyn and Sharif were once very much in love, but they parted, for reasons, with much bitterness. Now, Sharif is a widower with three young daughters who need a teacher and he sets out to get Jesslyn to teach them. But when Jesslyn arrives, she learns that things are very much out of whack, the girls are depressed, Sharif is rarely home and his mother rules the roost with an iron fist. On top of that, the chemistry between Jesslyn and Sharif is sparking up again and there is still a great deal [...]

    8. it was quite nice but nothing special. i like books wid more angst n passion. also i was disappointed. many years they wasted due 2 a silly misunderstanding. i dunt understand how come sharif did not ask wid jessylyn first instead of believing his mother's lies n married another woman in hastewhen they were so much in love. it was really sweet 2 learn later in the book dat while in bed wid his wife zulima he called her jessylyn. heartbreaking 4 his wife though woman deserve this:p he regretted i [...]

    10. The sheikh's mother.wish I could cane her. How could she do that to a 5 yr old for peeing in the bed. I would have done more than thrown her out of my house and forbidden her from coming back. Other than the mother it was a sweet story and I'm glad they finally got married.

    11. I admit, I skimmed most of this one. The inner turmoil of the heroine was boring because she kept treading the same ground. Quick beach read but not very interesting.
